A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation

Peru’s participation will be under the “Artesanías del Perú” brand, an initiative by Mincetur. This exhibition will feature products that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation, utilizing indigenous materials from various artisanal sectors. The effort aims not only to reinforce Peru’s cultural identity but also to integrate its craft industry into international markets, with projected future sales potentially increasing national exports by $2 million.

Commitment to Artisan Development

This council includes representatives from various public and private entities, as well as stakeholders from the artisanal sector.

During the meeting, the importance of positioning Peruvian crafts in international markets was emphasized. Discussions also covered planned activities for 2025, underscoring the commitment to leveraging the country’s trade agreements, identifying new opportunities, and establishing mechanisms to support production workshops that employ over 420,000 artisans nationwide.

Additionally, the meeting reviewed commitments made in 2024, particularly those aimed at recovering pre-pandemic export levels and expanding the artisanal production base.
